Bath Photowalk - An Autumn Wander

For the most recent Bath Photowalk we had grand ideas of doing an Autumn themed walk. Feedback seemed to suggest however that it would be a little on the early side to capture the full blown Autumn colours so we settled on Victoria Park as our location reasoning that we could always find other things to photograph if the trees weren't very inspiring.

Interest in the walk seemed to be very high and it was shaping up to be one of the largest walks we had run. Unfortunately, the weather had other ideas and a big raincloud decided to park itself over the South-West giving us our first ever properly wet photowalk!

Luckily there were a few photowalkers who were undeterred and we all spent a fun (but rather soggy) couple of hours wandering around the Botanic Gardens and Great Dell. Admittedly there were still lots greens, but when we did stumble across some autumnal branches, they were pretty spectacular!

It was the Great Dell, however, which I enjoyed the most. Not only did we find a little respite from the constant showers under the large trees but we also found a HUGE colony of mushrooms. My favourite photos of the day were probably the ones I took of the Shakespeare monument - it gave a nice focal point to the images and allowed me to capture the dreariness of the weather!
