Flaming Feathers Christmas Show

I've been photographing live music events for quite a while now and, more often than not, this involves low light photography. I'm used to pushing the ISO capabilities of my cameras and working with relatively show shutter speeds in order to get enough light into the camera to capture an image but most of my experience has been working with musicians. On the whole, they don't tend to move about too much! You might get the odd jump or spin but there will generally be plenty of opportunity to grab a static image of them concentrating or yelling into the microphone.

At the weekend I tried my hand at something a bit different. The Flaming Feathers were putting on one of their annual Christmas shows. Remember to the Christmas Promo shoot that I did a few weeks ago? That was for the Flaming Feathers. Photographing a fast-paced dance show meant that I had to adapt quickly and keep my eyes peeled for the best moments to photograph. It helped that the girls were happy for me to stay for the entire show so I was spoilt for choice - each and every number was unique and there were a range of amazing costumes on display.

It was fantastic! The girls put on an amazing show and I would definitely recommend that you check out one of their upcoming events.
