Some of you may already be aware that a couple of years ago I set up and continue to help to run the Bath Photowalk. My original reasons for setting up a regular photowalk was to meet other like-minded people who were interested in photography. I wanted it to be a friendly get-together where people would feel comfortable no matter what their background or experience with photography.

Two years down the line and I've met some really lovely people, visited some really interesting sites and had many photographic conversations (and the occassional pint of cider!) along the way. One of my aims was to eventually hold an exhibition to showcase the talents of the photowalk participants and this year I am really pleased to say that we've been given some wall space during the Fringe Arts Bath festival to display some of our amazing images.

I really wanted to get the photowalkers involved in choosing which images would appear at the exhibition so, after much deliberation, Mark and I managed to create a shortlist from the hundreds of images that have been uploaded. It was such a huge task - there were so many fantastic images and I for one wasn't really sure where to start! I knew that I didn't want to shortlist images that were typical tourist-type snaps, I wanted something a bit different - abstract views, random angles, macro images and action shots. We sure do have a talented bunch and every single person manages to put their own unique spin on the images they capture during the photowalks.

You can see all of the shortlisted photos over on Pixie but please don't overlook all of the other fantastic images! Then if you fancy giving us your view on the best of the bunch, you can vote for your favourite images here. I could quite easily point you in the direction of my own images, but I won't! I truly am interested to see which photographs come out on top so please do vote!
